Parting is such sweet sorrow

Brings back memories of my own childhood. This big tough football coach was never to busy or "manly" to brush, fix, or blow-dry my hair. :) He's definitely one of a kind and made of a rare and wonderful breed

how much do I love these two. We are so sad to see them go :( but oh so happy that we will be much closer in just a few short weeks!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hope you had a good valentines day. We did :)

Dale surprised his ladies with some goodies and a yummy steak dinner (complete with full kitchen clean-up as well....the man is good!)

Since returning home from deployment, Dale has really stepped it up a notch with household involvement because I am so so very busy with school. He has mostly taken over bedtime routine so that I can get a jump start on homework when Abby goes to bed. He also always gets up from the dinner table to do the dishes and has even started going to the grocery store for me sometimes to pick stuff up (both of which are things I used to like to do). He always makes my coffee in the morning and today when I came home from work, I found new coffee creamer in the refrigerator (which is really the highlight of my morning!) It’s the little things really J and it feels like we have Valentines day every day, so I was a little shocked to see all the thoughtful treats displayed when I came home. All sorts of yummy chocolate to keep me company while I burn the midnight oil and fruit snacks for Abby because they are her most favorite treat in the whole wide world.  He really has his women figured out to a t!

Abby also got a sweet valentines day happy courtesy of it being trash day on base - so fun to find this little jewel on the side of the road! Its nothing a little clorox, lysol, and hospital strength cavicide can't disinfect and clean!

At this point she says to me, "Mama, I'm going to get gas. I'll be back in a minute. See you later!" Just too funny. That girl is a sponge I tell ya

We went mystic bowling this weekend. When is the last time you went bowling??!?!?  Abby had a BLAST! Its quite rare for me to have any sort of social life other than that involving my textbooks, so actually it was great for the whole house to get out

We went bowling with our friends Laura and Chris - Such a sweet couple and we are going to miss them so much when we move :(

They had this awesome little dinosaur thing to help little kids bowl. Abby loved it

My precious friend Laura who is due ANY day with sweet little Isabelle Blair sent Abby a FUN package today. I don’t get on facebook too often but I’ve been obsessively checking to see if she has delivered left. She was one of my best friends in ND and she moved to Turkey so she wasn’t here when we came back :( But the airforce is small so I have faith we’ll be reunited again one day. The little doctor kit is SO cute and I am thankful she isn’t playing with my “big girl” medical toys anymore! Hee. What a sweet friend to remember Abby’s birthday! We love the bag and we love you Laura!


And p.s. I’m sorry that there are so many uneventful videos on here lately. Of course we are so biased and could watch videos of her all day (we can’t wait to watch them the minute she goes because we already miss her sweet little self). In the near future I’ll have a 2 year old post because this girl is pretty spectacular and just totally blows me away with how much she grows and matures every day. I recently printed out some of my past blogs and it is SO fun to have a little captured hardcopy memory of your life. I want to remember all of Abby’s wonderful quirks and emerging personality, so stay tuned in the near future for a 2 year old post!
